Commercial Roofing Account Manager — SASKATOON

Skyline Roofing Ltd. is currently looking for an Account Manager for our Commercial Roofing Division. The successful applicant will be well-versed in estimating and project management in new commercial roofing and will be up for the challenge of working with a large, fast-paced, growing company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the General Manager of Commercial Operations and take an active role in the assisting of securement of all projects to which you are involved
  • Get to know and understand our distribution and manufacturing partners. This plays a big part in your development within the commercial operations department
  • Perform sales, estimating, project management and negotiations of upcoming and existing contracts.
  • Uphold our vision and culture in all dealings internally within the company and externally with our client and supplier groups.
  • Actively participate in assigned project budgets and tenders and weekly business unit meetings.
  • Actively participate in day to day management of, and contribution to, the success of active projects. This will include but not limited to:
    • Attendance at project meetings
    • Working with clients to deliver projects within scheduled timeframes
    • Ensuring timely material ordering and delivery to facilitate project work
    • Timely submissions of samples and shop drawings
    • Timely pricing and submission of change orders
    • Progress billings
    • Working closely with project superintendents and foremen, general contractors, other clients and subcontractors

Junior Estimator - Roofing (Red Deer)

The Estimator/Project Coordinator role has a direct responsibility for the life cycle management and accountability of projects, ensuring compliance to project management policies, standards and procedures.

Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and/or coordinate the preparation of full cost estimates on general tender projects.
  • Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate as well as intended schedules.
  • Ensure projects are completed within schedule and on budget as well as providing a high level of customer service to clients. Provide comprehensive project coordination oversight throughout the construction, commissioning and final completion phases of each project. This may include visiting construction sites to monitor the project progress, assess quality and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate project progress, updating project information, ordering materials for ongoing projects, coordinating components for projects and meeting with suppliers and clients
  • Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educational requirements include a degree involving estimating/quantifying or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience to a minimum of 5 years
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft word, excel and other related systems
  • Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others, have strong interpersonal skills, be self-motivated and a team player
  • Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives
  • Ability to meet deadlines to complete bid documents, submittals or the coordination of on-going projects and/or meeting with supplier or clients.
  • A valid driver's license
  • Understand and work within the vision statement set out by Skyline
